Scan Redirector RDP Edition is a software that allows you to easily use your scanner inside a Remote Desktop session on another computer or server.
Two remote connection protocols are supported: Microsoft RDP and Citrix ICA.
Scan Redirector RDP Edition works with both types of scanning software: WIA-enabled and TWAIN-enabled applications.
The product is composed of two parts, the Server part and the Workstation part. The Server part creates a virtual scanner on a remote machine and connects it to the Workstation part where the physical scanner is located (your PC, laptop or thin client). Thus, when you're scanning within the remote desktop session from a virtual scanner, the actual scanning takes place on you local scanner device.
Another advantage of a Server-Workstation design is absence of necessity to install a scanner driver on a remote machine. You just use one virtual driver for all scanners connected. It greatly simplifies the administrative and tune up tasks. Actually, you don't have to do any tune up on a remote machine at all. Just install the Scan Redirector RDP Edition (Server Part) and remote side will be ready to scan.
Scan Redirector RDP Edition supports working in the multi-user environment if a remote side is equipped with Microsoft Server family operating system. All users are allowed to scan simultaneously without interfering each other.
